Donna Day

St. Baldrick's

My new friend and fellow Listen To Your Mother cast member, Sheila, has a story that gets you right here (points to heart). Her little girl, Donna, passed away from cancer in 2009 at the age of four after battling the disease for 31 months. You can read about Donna’s life and light here or watch and listen to her “story song” below.

The charity created in Donna’s honor, Donna’s Good Things, is sponsoring a fundraising head shaving event on March 30 in Chicago. They have a team of volunteers (still welcoming more!) who will shave their heads as a statement of unity and support for children who are battling cancer, and in an effort to raise money for children’s cancer research.  All the proceeds from this event will go to St. Baldrick’s, the leading funder of children’s cancer research.

Today is Donna Day. A day to celebrate the life of a child, of all children who have fought, and continue to fight this disease. A day to say to these families, “Hey, I’m with you. I see you.”

If you can, I ask you to support this campaign by donating to the Donna’s Good Things team. Follow this link, click the green donate button, and give what you can spare.

Join the fight.
